Having delivered over 300 applications to the iTunes App Store and dozens of updates to our 7 million users, Renkara Media Group has established a proven, repeatable development process that we can now offer to our consulting clients.

Our development process enables the creation of software with intuitive and elegant experiences that delight your customers while also maintaining the solid performance and robustness that preserves their confidence in your company and brand. Apps which are gorgeous but crash or lock up hurt your company's image rather than boost it. Our process minimizes these risks and allows you to launch in the App Store with the momentum and excitement you deserve.

 

Getting Started

Getting started is as simple as filling out our contact form. Once you contact us, we'll get back to you via email, usually in a few hours. If you need an NDA, we are happy to sign yours or we have an NDA that you can use.

Requirements and Estimation

To get a better understanding of your application, a conversation is usually scheduled next, during which we work through a series of questions to determine what features and capabilities your application will have in version 1.0. After this interview, Renkara Media Group will provide an estimate of the project costs and schedule. Once you agree to move forward with the project, a contract for professional services is executed and work on your application begins.

For larger, more complex, applications, an accurate estimate may not be possible at this stage. In this case, we recommend building an interactive prototype (see Prototyping below) to drive the final version 1.0 requirements and an accurate estimate of costs and schedule. At the end of the exercise, you have a simulated, interactive application that can be installed on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad to be shown to management, investors, or clients. This prototyping exercise is usually completed within 5 business days and costs approximately $2,500. The cost of the prototype is deducted from the total cost of the project.

Prototyping

All applications go through an initial prototyping exercise. Renkara Media Group leverages a proprietary technology called FirstLook which enables us to provide relatively sophisticated interactive prototypes very rapidly. During the prototyping exercise, the general look and feel of the application is determined and you have an interactive application which you can experiment with to prove out its workflow and usability.

Iterative Development and Quality Assurance

Using the prototype as a basis, the real application is built through several iterations. In each iteration, Renkara Media Group adds functionality, refines the user experience, and performs quality assurance to ensure that the finished application is of the utmost quality and polish and accurately meets your requirements. At the end of each iteration, a version of the application will be made available to you for your own internal testing and inspection.

App Submission

Most applications are completed in approximately 8 to 12 weeks. Once Renkara Media Group completes the application, it is provided to you for final acceptance. At this point, you may take the application and submit it to the iTunes App Store yourself or Renkara Media Group can submit the application to the App Store under its developer license.

Maintenance and Support

Congratulations! You now have an app on sale in the App Store! However, Apple requires all applications to be supported, minimally, by email technical support. Renkara Media Group is happy to provide additional support options so you can fully outsource the support and maintenance of your application.
